About Us

Calise Design Studios was born as a creative outlet aside from our day to day work in hopes to, one day, make it our focus. That day has arrived. Our name is plural since our creative outlets are far beyond one and it has been our goal to create a different studio that describes what we do under one name. Our journey started with the Furniture Studio. Since then we have created several other smaller studios such as Soap Making and Accessories, Logo Design for small businesses, and Stationery Studio. Nevertheless, our main focus continues to be the Furniture Studio, Architectural design and Drafting Studio and Digital Art Studio.

Architectural Design and Drafting Services

Lead by Mirelys Calise, the Architectural Design and Drafting Studio concentrates in architectural design, space planning and visualization of our client's future space in the residential and commercial area. Kitchen design and renovation, residential additions, interior design, and 3-D modeling and architectural renderings. This studio gives us the opportunity and privilege to collaborate with other architectural and design firms, residential plan and elevation designs for builders, and developers.

Furniture Design

Lead by Richard Calise, the Furniture Studio specializes in designing and building furniture combining new and reclaimed wood. All our furniture are designed and made by us. We use local materials and the best reclaimed wood to give our furniture that unique and signature look. Our furniture line is inspired by Modern Style with clean lines and low profiles. Unlike mass produced items, every one of our pieces is unique and we are proud to offer the best quality handmade furniture. Lead time is between 6 to 10 weeks and it depends on the type of furniture ordered. Our work is made-to-order at our Furniture Studio in Knoxville TN.

Digital Art

Digital Art Studio concentrates in capturing special moments in an artistic way. We do portraits and Architectural renderings. We would love to work with you. Contact us for more details. We love working with Photographers!

Mirelys Calise

CEO/Architectural Designer

Creative, detail-oriented, always focused, artist, designer, and founder of Calise Design Studios. Her career started at a magazine for the Spanish speaker called IDEAS para su hogar specializing in home decor, kids’ crafts, & art. This led her to study Architecture focusing in the technical, leadership, visualization and design of projects including international ones introducing her to new people, ideas & global concepts helping her shape the professional and designer she is today. She developed great sensitivity for all areas of design including photography & Digital Art putting into practice her knowledge of hand painting and drawing into a digital canvas staying with the trends of new technology. She is an introvert by nature, but don't let that fool you, well-rounded individual, forward thinker with many talents.

Richard Calise

VP/Master Carpenter

Detail Oriented, Master Carpenter, Designer and founder of CDS Furniture Studio. His career is full of surprises and he is always on the lookout on new furniture trends and styles. His career started at a young age helping his father, who was an electrician in the construction industry. This experience was the catalyst for his future career taking him to work at Home Depot. He not only was one of their Kitchen Designers, but he also managed the Kitchen showroom and the Interior Design Department. He retired from it after 13 years, leading him to study Architecture. It is here where he excels at mastering building design and technology. He works full time as a Project Manager in a prestigious Knoxville, TN architectural firm. We are extremely blessed to have his Master Carpentry expertise. He is an extrovert by nature, and loves talking to people, an incredible mentor who is always ready to share with everyone what he knows.

The Mascot

Fun, Energetic, Cute, and lovable. He came to us on May 2018 and his specialty is protection, love, cuddles, and licks. His spunky personality, his ears and vivatious eyes is what saves him most of the time, but we wouldn't want him any other way and we love him just the way he is!
